Noguera seals Rangers win over Harvesters
MESQUITE – Ranger stepped out of conference looking to get back in the win column against Eastfield College. The Rangers came out on the right side of a game that was decided on the final pitch winning 7-6.
DECIDING MOMENTS
Ranger trailed 3-1 heading into the sixth inning when they mounted a rally started by an Austin Stokes triple. Stokes scored on a passed ball to get RC within 3-2. The next five Ranger batters reached by either drawing a walk or getting hit-by-pitch, which gave Ranger a 4-3 lead. Nolan Gazouski padded the Ranger lead with a sacrifice fly and Luis Vargas capped the inning with double that scored Austin Tidwell to make it 7-3.
The Harvesters answered with three runs in the bottom of seventh, which set up the ninth inning drama. Three walks and a fielder's choice set up Eastfield with bases loaded and one-out situation. Oscar Noguera then struck out the next two batters to seal the Rangers win.
