Cedar Valley scored twice in the closing minutes of play in the first half on Monday and then held on to take a 4-1 victory over the Ranger College men’s soccer team in front of a small crowd in Lancaster.
Western Texas College scored two goals within a 32-second span late in the first half of play on Saturday, Oct. 27, and raced to a 3-1 victory over Ranger College in the finals of the Region V Soccer Championships at The Depot in Cleburne.
All season, Ranger College head coach Rafael Gonzalez reminded his team the key to their success was simple: Play with more energy and finish. Ranger brought more than enough energy on Thursday afternoon in the semifinal round of the Region V Soccer Championships. They scored twice in the second half and raced to a 3-1 victory over Hill College.
The Ranger College men's soccer team notched a pair of big non-conference wins over the last few days. Ranger defeated Cedar Valley on Sept. 14 by a 2-0 margin. They followed that with a lopsided win over Paris Junior College three days later.
