Rangers unable to ground Chaps
On Thursday, Ranger was in position to sweep Vernon College, but the Chaps came back to steal both games from RC. The Rangers were looking for some revenge at home on Saturday, but again the Chaps played the spoiler roll in sweeping the Rangers in a pair of conference games, 13-2 and 10-0.
DECIDING MOMENTS
GAME 1: Vernon put the game away in the fifth inning when they scored seven runs with only committing one out.
The lone bright spot for the home team came in the bottom half of the inning when Sebastian Battle sent a rocket over the left centerfield fence for a 2-run home run.
GAME 2: Vernon started the scoring with three runs in the third. They added three more runs over the next two innings and put the game away in the seventh with a 4-run inning. Marco Rivera hit a damaging home run on Thursday and belted a grand slam on Saturday to put the game away.
BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE
Battle dove in the Rangers only two runs on the day and finished with a pair of hits including the home run.
Christian Sanjurjo added a pair of base knocks in Game 2.
SCHEDULE SAYS
