Ranger bats blast Odessa for Game 2 win
After fighting rain for the majority of the week, Ranger finally got some sunshine and took advantage to pick up a split against Odessa College. After a heartbreaking Game 1 loss, 5-3, Ranger jumped out early and ran away with Game 2, 10-4.
GAME 1
Headed to the seventh inning tied at 2-2, Odessa got some help from Ranger to start the inning. An error and misplayed bunt gave the Wranglers two on with no out, OC didn't waste much time in taking advantage when they blasted a 3-run home run to grab the lead.
Ranger tried to fight back in the bottom of the inning, but after getting the tying run to the plate they had to settle for just a single run.
GAME 2
Fresh off the disappointment of losing the opener, Ranger wasn't going to let that loss beat them twice. Daniel Goncalves got the scoring started with a first inning home run and RC went up 1-0. Not done, Kaleb Thompson doubled the lead with an RBI single and Ranger took a 2-0 lead into the second inning. Down to its final strike of the inning, Ranger rallied to add to its lead on a Noah Winkleman double and went up 3-0 and would never look back.
RC went on to score two more runs in the third and sixth innings before adding a three spot in the seventh.
