Winkleman and Bueno go deep, but its not enough for RC vs. Weatherford

WEATHERFORD -- Conference play opened for both Ranger and Weatherford with a Wednesday doubleheader. The two teams came into the second season with nearly an identical record, the opener was just as tight as the standings, but the Yotes ran away and took Game 2.

GAME 1

Ranger came to the plate in the top of the seventh inning trailing by just three runs following a Noah Winkleman 3-run home run in the sixth inning. After Victor Bueno went deep to start the final inning, it looked like the RC comeback was on. However, still down a single run, 7-5, Ranger was retired in order on three-straight punch outs and lost by those two runs.

GAME 2

The second game of the double dip was decided in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Coyotes used a pair of home runs, singles and walks in addition to a triple and an error to hang eight runs on the board. Ranger would try to cut the deficit in the following two innings, but WC won by run-rule in the seventh, 14-4.
