Ranger College Baseball's Emir Encalada has been named the NTJCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. 

The Ranger College Baseball Team has another reason to brag. Emir Encalada has been named the NTJCAC Baseball Player (Pitcher) of the Week. 

Emir, a right-handed sophomore for the Rangers, has been named the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week after pitching an amazing game against Wharton College, handing Wharton its first loss of the season.

Encalada, who earned the win, delivered a stellar performance, pitching a complete game shutout. He had 12 Strikeouts, one base on balls, and 4 hits after pitching a complete game (7 innings). Encalada faced 26 batters. 

For the season, Encalada has 2 appearances, 1 win, 11.0 innings pitched, a 2.45 ERA, a WHIP of 1.00, and 17 strikeouts.

The Ranger Baseball team next hosts a rematch series against Coastal Bend College which starts tomorrow (Friday) at noon.
