The Ranger College men's basketball team punched its ticket to the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference semifinals on Wednesday night with a rousing 128-59 victory over Southwestern Christian in the Ron Butler Gymnasium.
With the first-round victory, Ranger improved to 15-4 for the season and notched its fifth consecutive victory. Overall, RC had won 11 of its 12 outings.
The Rangers will advance to face McLennan Community College in the conference semifinals on Saturday, April 3. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. in the RC gym.
Ranger College, which entered the postseason as the conference's No. 2 seed, is 2-0 against the Highlanders this season. The Rangers picked up an 82-79 decision on Feb. 24 in Waco. On March 20, they notched an 84-67 win at home.
McLennan comes into the contest at 18-4 overall, including an 85-59 win over Weatherford in their playoff opener.
The NTJCAC's other semifinal game will feature top-seeded Grayson College hosting fourth-seeded Collin on Saturday.
