Ranger Men's Basketball Clench Victory in Showdown Against Hill College
RANGER, Texas — The Ranger College men's basketball team secured another key conference win against Hill College on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. The Rangers led for most of the first half, outscoring the Rebels 43-36. Hill College made a strong push in the second half, tying the Rangers with 34 points, but could not overcome the deficit, as Ranger College finished with a 77-70 victory.
Kemauri Mellender and Charles Okafor led the Rebels with 23 points each. Okafor also had a team-high 10 rebounds.
C.J. Evans paced the Rangers with 28 points, adding 9 assists and 5 steals. Anthony Medlock contributed 14 points and 5 assists. Chase Collins also scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and recorded 2 steals. Kaylon Mason finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds—10 of which were defensive—and added 5 assists and 2 steals.
The win improved the Rangers' record to 3-4 in conference play and 13-10 overall. They will next face Temple College in Temple, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at 4 p.m.
