Ashton Arnold

Bio

Coach Ashton Arnold enters his first season as Head Men's Basketball Coach at Ranger College, bringing experience in player development, recruiting, and program building at both the junior college and NCAA Division I levels.

Prior to Ranger College, Arnold served on the staff at Tarleton State University under veteran head coach Billy Gillispie. Before joining Tarleton State, he was an assistant coach at Eastern Florida State College, where he helped lead the Titans to 23 wins in their first season under a new coaching staff—the most by a first-year staff in program history. Eastern Florida State spent 11 weeks ranked in the NJCAA Division I Top 25, climbing as high as No. 8 nationally, while all five starters earned NCAA Division I scholarships.

Arnold also served as an assistant coach at nationally recognized Chipola College under former University of Tennessee head coach Donnie Tyndall. In addition to his collegiate experience, he founded the Utah Valley Prime Basketball Club, leading the program's 16U team to a 30-2 record and a berth in the Adidas 3SSB Championship. He has also coached with Austin Rivers Elite and Vegas Elite Basketball Club.

Before entering the collegiate ranks, Arnold served as head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach at Orem High School in Utah from 2022 to 2024. He compiled a 39-9 record as a head coach while helping develop six future NCAA Division I athletes. During his tenure, Orem won back-to-back conference championships and advanced to consecutive Utah State Quarterfinal appearances.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Arnold earned a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business management after completing his associate degree in business management at Ventura College. A former student-athlete, he played football at Ventura College and was a dual-sport standout in football and basketball during high school.

Basketball runs deep in Arnold's family. His grandfather, John Wooden assistant Frank Arnold, helped UCLA win three national championships before leading BYU to an Elite Eight appearance. His father, Gib Arnold, has coached at multiple Division I programs and served as an NBA scout with the Boston Celtics.

Arnold arrives at Ranger College committed to developing student-athletes and building a championship culture on and off the court.
