Rangers advance to district title match with PK win over No. 16 Barton CC
TOPEKA, KS. – For the second-straight match, Ranger found itself in extra time with its season on the line. This time the Rangers were unable to get the game-winner before penalty kicks, but they did get two stops from goalkeeper Juan Cediel and found the back of the net all four times they stepped to the line to earn a 2-1 win with a 4-2 win in penalty kicks.
After a scoreless first half, Ranger fell behind midway through the second and with just 77 seconds left in the match RC was still trailing until Chris Harrison scored to tie the match at 1-1, which sent the match to overtime.
Ranger will play the winner of Kansas City Kansas Community College and Rose State College Friday for the opportunity to go to Arizona and play for a national championship.
