Ranger has its season end in district title game vs. KCKCC
TOPEKA, KS -- With their season on the line the past two matches, Ranger came away with wins in double overtime and in penalty kicks. For their efforts, RC earned a berth in the Plains District Tournament Title match with the winner advancing to the national tournament. The Devils jumped out 2-0 and Ranger was unable to force extra time for a third-straight match as their season came to an end with a 3-2 loss.
In the final minute of the opening half, Kyle Edwards brought Ranger within 2-1. KCKCC quickly got its two-goal lead back in the second half, which they held until the final 10 minutes of the match when Edwards found Azinho Solomon to cut the lead back to a single goal.
The Blue Devils ran out the final minutes of the clock to hand the Rangers just their third loss of the season. RC finished 9-3-1 on the season winning both the regular season and regional tournament titles, the first time the program accomplished with of those feats.
