Ranger runs in Trinity meet
In its first meet of the season, Ranger was in San Antonio on Saturday taking part in the Trinity University Invitational.
Ranger was the only junior college competing.
Dan Rotich highlighted the Rangers day when he finished fifth in the 5000M posting a time of 15:55.71.
Gladys Rutto was the highest finisher for the women. Rutto placed fifth in the 1500M with a time of 5:16.57. Destiney Byrd was 11th in the 800M with a time of 2:35.91.
Other highlights included Johnnie Wilkinson who placed 13th in the 800M at 2:37.12.
Freshiah Ndungu was 14th in the 1500M at 5:19.00.
Max Ramirez ran 11:55.06 in the 3000M Steeple Chase.
Jose Soto finished with a 16:51.40 in the 5000M. Also in the men's 5000M, Isaac Gafishi ran 17:09.12; Huriel Chavez ran 17:15.68
Nydia Castro ran 5:50. 33 in the 1500M; Shanda Soloman ran 6:36.6 also in the 1500M.
In the men's 1500M, Sydney Leverett ran 4:15.33; Joey Hernandez ran 4:30.05; Erick Brett ran 4:34.39; and Carson Kipkirui finished with a 4:34.93
Abel Kogo ran 2:17.41 in the 800M.
The Rangers are back on the track March 24 in Abilene at the McMurry Invite.
