RC men run to 6th at Aggie Duels

Khanya Yali raced his way to 12th in the men's overall standings on Sept. 8 and helped carry the Ranger College men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish in the team standings at the 2024 Aggie Duels at Cameron University in Lawton, OK.

As a team, the Rangers scored 120 points and finished just 18 points behind Amarillo College. West Texas A&M won the men's title with a mark of 37. Cameron University and North Central Texas College were second third, respectively.

Yali paced the RC men by legging out a time of 25 minutes, 58.24 seconds. Camron's Kgaogelo Moloisi won the men's race with a time of 24:46.32.

Victor Rosas also did well for RC, checking in at No. 14 overall. His time in the event was 26:25.81.

John Russell, Jr., Michael Martinez and James Evetts rounded out the top five RC runners. Russell was 27th overall at 27:44.40, while Martinez was 31st at 27:52.32. Evetts was 39th at 28:19.96.

Paul Barmau, Sammy Kiptoo and Brock Hestand also ran for the Rangers. Barmau finished 42nd with a run of 28:31.62. Kiptoo was 49th at 29:54.89, while Hestand was 54th at 30:31.54.
