Rewriting the History Books for Ranger Track & Field
ALBURQUERQUE, New Mexico — As the Rangers faced yet another daunting task, a couple of athletes continued to hold their own amongst the best.
Alyssa Mabry took the indoor record for the 800 with a time of 2:25.21 just 3 seconds for national standards and a 11:00.50 in the 3k, also setting the record.
Alfrenique Knowles of the Bahamas took the 600 meter indoor record missing the qualifying standards by just 4 seconds.
Newcomer Robert Stuart of the Bahamas just stepped on campus January 1st and missing the Long jump standard by a couple of meters but sets the school record with a 6.93.
Coach De'Torrian Green stated, "I'm very excited to give these kids a break as we don't compete until February 8th in Houston. This should give our kids fresh legs to meet standards as it will be our last indoor meet for the team. This has been a learning experience for most as we're very young but promising."
You can catch the Rangers' Track and Field team back in action February 8, 2025 at the FasTrak collegiate performance meet at the University of Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas.
