Beginning of a New Era for RC Track and Field
HOUSTON, Texas — The Ranger College track and field program has solidified its presence, demonstrating it is here to stay.
At the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge, Ranger College athletes achieved 15 new personal records (PRs) for the season, the most ever in a single meet.
"This meet was designed for PRs," stated Coach De'Torrian Green. "We elminated weight room training, increased practice intensity, and extended rest times. It was time to move fast."
The meet yielded five national qualifiers, including Khanya Yali in the 800-meter dash (1:55.90, 38th in the country). Alfrenique Knowles, Alyssa Mabry, Macie Morales, and Kendra Muhammad were also national qualifiers in the Distance Medley Relay (12:48.31, 8th in the nation).
Ranger College concluded the indoor season with 23 new indoor records, comprising 13 men's and 10 women's records. The team will compete next at the NJCAA National Indoor Meet at Texas Tech University in Lubbock on March 7-8, 2025.
