Wilashia Burleson pumped in a game-high 28 points and Reaghan Ridge added 12 more on Saturday and helped the Ranger College Lady Rangers wash away the sour memories of their outing in Temple with a 72-61 win over the Weatherford College Lady Coyotes.
With the win, Ranger College moved into sole possession of second in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference with a 6-2 mark. Temple fell to third following a loss to Hill on Saturday.
A freshman, Burleson gave Weatherford fits. In addition to her 28 points, she finished off a double-double performance with 12 rebounds.
Ridge came off the bench to give RC's offense a boost. She buried four three-point shots and helped the Lady Rangers battle their way to a 32-28 halftime lead.
Ranger stretched its lead to eight, at 56-48, with a 24-point spree in the third.
Cyarah Kensmil and She'Ray Wilson also scored into double figures for Ranger. Kensmil had 10 points to go with eight rebounds. Wilson, who has scored into double-digits in each of her last two games, tallied 10 points and had seven boards.
Ranger will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Cisco.
