RC women move to within reach of NTJCAC lead

The Ranger College women's basketball moved a step closer to the top of the NTJCAC standings with a big 75-51 victory over rival Cisco on Wednesday.

With the win, the Lady Rangers improved to 7-2 in conference play and climbed to within a game of Hill College for the top spot. Hill College heads, which fell to Grayson on Wednesday, is 8-2 heading into Saturday's game with Temple.

Ranger College, which has won seven of its last nine outings, got off to a quick start against Cisco. The Lady Rangers outscored the Lady Wranglers by a 20-14 clip in the initial 10 minutes and never looked back. They tacked on an 18-10 run in the second quarter and took a 38-24 lead into the half.

Ranger finished off the win with a 37-27 run in the second half.

Cyarah Kensmil and Wilashia Burleson led RC's attack.

Ranger College will host Southwestern Christian College in the Ron Butler Gymnasium on Saturday. The game will begin at 2 p.m.
