Lady Rangers race past Coastal Bend
Aisha Martin pumped in 21 points and Mariah Houston added 14 more on Saturday and powered the Ranger College women to a 62-43 victory over Coastal Bend in a non-conference showdown.
With the win, the Lady Rangers kicked off the 2025 portion of their schedule with a bang. The win moves Ranger College to 3-8 heading into Monday's non-conference finale against Blinn College.
"Our defensive effort was consistent for 40 minutes," said RC head coach Mark Moreland. " It was a great win to start of the new year."
Ranger College got off to a solid start to the contest. Ranger scored 19 points in the first 10 minutes of the contest and never looked back.
The Lady Rangers garnered double-digit offensive efforts from three players in the win. Also scoring into double figures was Alani Owens, who finished with 11 points.
Ranger College will open Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play on Jan. 8 when the host Temple College in the Ron Butler Gym. The game will tip off at 5 p.m.
