Lady Rangers close in on all-time win mark with win over Cisco
The Ranger College women's soccer team continued its march toward the record books on Monday.
The Lady Rangers kicke their way to a 5-1 victory over rival Cisco College in a Region 5 showdown at Chesley Field in Cisco.
With the victory, Ranger College ran its season record to 7-2-2. The win also moved the squad to within striking distance of the women's record for wins in a single season. The RC women are just two victories away from tying the college's record for wins (9) in a season, set in 2021 under former head coach Rafel Gonzalez.
In 2021, the Lady Rangers posted a 9-1-2 record. Their only loss came in a double overtime setback in the Region 5 championship game to Hill College.
The Lady Rangers, who are coaches by Julio Guerrero, will have a chance to break the all-time mark later this month as it has three games remaining in the regular season as well at least one outing in the Region 5 tournament.
