Ranger College Women’s Soccer Captures NJCAA Region V Championship with 4–0 Win
SNYDER, Texas — October 29, 2025 — The Ranger College women's soccer team capped an extraordinary season by capturing the NJCAA Region V Championship, defeating Cisco College 4–0 on Wednesday afternoon. The win improved the Lady Rangers' record to 11-1-2 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play, sealing an unbeaten conference and postseason campaign.
Second-Half Surge Secures the Title
After a defensive first half, Ranger erupted for four goals in a 13-minute span to take complete control of the match.
- In the 70th minute, Alba Mendez Garcia broke the scoreless deadlock off an assist from Laura Ruiz.
- Katalina Medina doubled the lead in the 75th minute, finishing a setup from Mendez Garcia.
- Mendez Garcia struck again in the 80th minute with an assist from Sofia Moreno Sabater, extending the lead to 3-0.
- Medina capped the scoring in the 83rd minute on a pass from Nina Watson, sealing the 4-0 championship victory.
Defensive Perfection
Goalkeeper Penelope Charrion anchored another shutout for the Lady Rangers, recording two saves as the defense held Cisco without a single shot on goal. Ranger's back line controlled possession and denied the Lady Wranglers any offensive rhythm.
A Season to Remember
With the win, Ranger College finishes the regular and continues in the postseason unbeaten in conference play (6-0-1) and 11-1-2 overall, capturing both the conference and Region V titles.
