Brown realizes dream by signing with UTSA

Jordan Brown always wanted to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio. Last week, her dream came true.

Surrounded by her teammates, the Ranger College standout became the latest Lady Ranger to sign with a 4-year university on Friday. A native of El Paso, she signed with the Division I program during a special ceremony in the RC Board of Regents' meeting room.

"I'm very excited about going there," said Brown, who developed into one of the top players in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference in her two seasons under head coach Nicole Smith. "When I was in junior high, I had some friends tell me how great UTSA was and I've kind of always wanted to go there."

At UTSA, Brown will be joining a Lady Roadrunners program that is coming off a 7-11 record, including a 5-7 mark in Conference USA.

In her two seasons at Ranger, Brown was a dominant force for the Lady Rangers. In 2021, she finished second on the team in kills with 146 and sets with 63. For her career, she registered 339 kills.

With her signing, Brown joins teammate Kaycie Shannon in signing with an NCAA program. Shannon signed with Midwestern State University prior to the start of the 2021 season.
