Ranger College Volleyball Sweeps Hill College in Conference Opener

HILLSBORO, Texas — September 3, 2025 — The Ranger College volleyball team opened conference play in style Wednesday night, sweeping Hill College 3–0 on the road. The Rangers showed balance at the net, strong serving, and steady defense en route to set wins of 25–21, 25–23, and 25–16.

Offensive Leaders

Carlota Mora and Etsel Ramirez paced the attack with six kills apiece. Mora also contributed on defense with a solo block and a block assist. Prestyn Parish and Eunice Cervantes each tallied five kills, with Cervantes also adding three total blocks. Faith Sosa chipped in four kills, while Bailey Black provided two kills on just five swings, hitting .400.

Setting and Serving Strength

Setter Tarryn Allen directed the offense with 12 assists and sparked the Rangers from the service line, delivering three aces. Kinley Evans and Dafne Sosa were also key behind the line, combining for four aces. As a team, Ranger College totaled 10 aces in the match.

Defensive Impact

Defensively, Etsel Ramirez led the back row with 17 digs, while Dafne Sosa added 13. The Rangers also controlled the net with 10 team blocks, highlighted by Cervantes and Sheppard in the middle.

The win gives Ranger College an early boost in conference standings and continues their strong start to the season.
