Ranger College Volleyball Downs Vernon 3-0, Stays Strong in Conference Standings
RANGER, Texas — September 13, 2025 — The Ranger College volleyball team made a strong statement in their conference game against Vernon College, sweeping them in straight sets (25–23, 25–23, 25–18). The victory showcased balanced scoring, a resilient defense, and a poised performance in front of the home crowd.
Offensive Highlights
Sophomore Carlota Mora led the attack with a match-high 10 kills to go along with 4 digs and 3 block assists, finishing with 12.5 total points. Etsel Ramirez added 9 kills and 10 digs, while Eunice Cervantes chipped in 6 kills, 3 block assists, and 8.5 points.
Freshman Setter Bailey Black distributed the offense efficiently with 18 assists and also added an ace and 3 digs. Tarryn Allen contributed 12 more assists, 9 digs, and an ace of her own.
Defensive Standouts
The Lady Rangers' defense proved crucial in the sweep. Prestyn Parish anchored the back row with 14 digs, while Ramirez and Allen each reached double digits. Ranger's blocking presence was also felt as the team tallied 12 block assists, with Kymberly Sheppard, Ramirez, and Cervantes combining for eight.
Closing the Match
After grinding out narrow 25–23 wins in the first two sets, Ranger pulled away in the third with a confident 25–18 finish to seal the victory.
Looking Ahead
With the win, the Lady Rangers improved their record to 3-1 in conference play and 7-6 overall. They will aim to carry this confidence forward as they continue their push through conference competition as they play Temple College in Temple, Texas on Wednesday September 17, Dallas College Mountain View in Dallas, Texas on September 18, and Cisco College at home in Ranger on Saturday September 20.
