RANGER, Texas — November 19, 2025 — In a tightly contested matchup that came down to the final minutes, the Ranger College men's basketball team fell to the Navarro College Bulldogs 71–67 on Wednesday night at Ron Butler Gymnasium. The loss drops the Rangers to 3–4 on the season, but the team showed resilience and balance throughout a game that featured multiple lead changes.
Brown and Headings Power the Offense
Freshman guard Cam Brown continued his strong early-season play, scoring 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting while adding 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and a steal in 32 minutes of action. Sophomore forward Gavin Headings matched Brown's production with 21 points of his own, going 9-of-14 from the floor while pulling down 7 rebounds and adding a block and a steal in a highly efficient performance.
Strong Contributions Across the Lineup
Sophomore Jalen Hooks had a perfect shooting night, scoring 6 points on 3-of-3 shooting, and collected 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. Freshman Javon Alexander added 3 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, helping facilitate the offense and create defensive pressure. Off the bench, Devin Whitten provided a spark with 10 points, including two three-pointers, while adding 5 rebounds and a steal.
Rangers Battle Until the End
Ranger shot an efficient 45.8% from the field but struggled from long range at 3-for-20 (15%). Navarro's late-game execution proved to be the difference, as the Bulldogs hit key shots in the final two minutes to edge out the win.
