Ranger College Men’s Basketball Rolls Past Coastal Bend for Fourth Win of the Season
RANGER, Texas — November 22, 2025 — The Ranger College men's basketball team earned a strong home victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Coastal Bend College Cougars 89–77 at Ron Butler Gymnasium. The win moves the Rangers to 4–4 on the season, continuing an upward trend in their early-season form.
Brown's 25 Leads the Way
Freshman guard Cam Brown delivered another standout performance, scoring a game-high 25 points while adding 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Brown shot 7-of-18 from the field, hit three three-pointers, and was perfect from the free-throw line at 8-for-8.
Headings Dominates the Paint
Sophomore forward Gavin Headings provided a major lift inside, posting a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting. He also added 3 assists and a steal in 22 minutes of action.
Balanced Scoring Across the Lineup
Ranger College saw four players score in double figures:
- Jalen Hooks — 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks, shooting 4-of-9 from the field
- Devin Whitten — 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal
- Jaylen Drane — 12 points off the bench on 5-of-6 shooting, including two three-pointers
Contributions from the bench kept the Rangers steady in both halves, with strong minutes from Jace Jeffries, Rashad Bryant, and Ray Lomboto.
