RANGER, Texas — September 6, 2025 — The Ranger College volleyball team made a strong statement in their home opener on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Southwestern Christian College in straight sets (25–14, 25–8, 25–13).
Balanced Attack
The Lady Rangers put together an efficient offensive performance, hitting .375 as a team with 40 kills and only 10 errors. Sophomore Carlota Mora led the way with 9 kills and a .600 hitting percentage, while Kymberly Sheppard (7 kills, .600) and Etsel Ramirez (7 kills, .333) provided steady production at the net.
Setting the Tone
Setter Tarryn Allen orchestrated the attack, dishing out a team-high 19 assists, while Jenna Rios added 5 assists and 7 digs. The Rangers also kept the pressure on with strong serving, recording 8 aces, highlighted by Rios and Bailey Black, who each tallied 3.
Defensive Standouts
Defensively, Etsel Ramirez anchored the back row with 10 digs, and the front line combined for 4 team blocks, led by contributions from Faith Sosa and Giulia Beatriz Silva.
