Ranger College Volleyball Sweeps North Central Texas, Improves to 7-1 in Conference
RANGER, Texas — September 27, 2025 — The Ranger College volleyball team extended its hot streak in conference play Saturday, sweeping North Central Texas College in straight sets (25–18, 25–10, 25–22). The win pushes the Lady Rangers to 7-1 in conference play and 12-6 overall.
Offensive Leaders
Sophomore Etsel Ramirez powered the attack with a team-high 8 kills, while also serving up 6 aces and collecting 10 digs for a match-best 14.5 total points. Eunice Cervantes added 8 kills and 3 block assists for 12.5 points, while Carlota Mora chipped in 7 kills and 3 total blocks.
Setting the Tone
The offense was directed by freshman Tarryn Allen, who dished out 16 assists, while Bailey Black added 4 and Dafne Sosa 5. The Rangers' aggressive serving proved decisive, with the team totaling 11 aces on the day, led by Ramirez, Cervantes (3), Sosa (1), and Prestyn Parish (1).
Defensive Strength
Defensively, Dafne Sosa anchored the back row with a team-high 17 digs, while Parish contributed 12 digs and 4 block assists. At the net, Sheppard, Cervantes, Mora, and Parish combined for 13 block assists, frustrating the Lions' offense throughout.
Closing It Out
After controlling the first two sets, the Lady Rangers held off a late push from North Central Texas in the third, finishing strong to secure the sweep.

With the win, Ranger College improves to 7-1 in conference play and 12-6 overall. The Lady Rangers will look to stay high in the league standings as they continue conference play with an away game at Collin College on Wednesday October 1, and a home game against Hill College on Saturday October 4.
